G’day, I’m Tony,

A certified This Naked Mind coach and the bloke behind Sobertides. I created this space because I saw a real need: Something for Aussie men who want to change their relationship with alcohol but feel like most of what’s out there just doesn’t speak to them.

A lot of quit literature is written by women for women, and it’s bloody good stuff. The stories and insights are powerful, but for many blokes it doesn’t quite land.

Women have access to top-notch coaches and plenty of support. For men, the options are thinner. That’s where bloke-friendly coaching really matters.

In fact I'm one of only two male Certified This Naked Mind Coaches in the whole of AUSTRALIA!

My Alcohol Freedom Coaching and my Online Courses are focused on the Aussie bloke, based on my own life experiences and my convoluted journey(s) to freedom from alcohol's grip.
In fact I’ve had two very different journeys with alcohol. The first time I quit, I leaned heavily on the AA literature. It kept me sober for almost eight years but it left me feeling broken, full of shame, and like I was constantly one bad day away from slipping. When I lost a close friend suddenly, I had no tools to handle the grief and I ended up back in old drinking patterns for another five years.

I knew I wanted out, but I couldn’t go back to the same approach. That’s when I found the "This Naked Mind" book, and for the first time, something made sense. The guts of it wasn’t about willpower or labelling myself. It was about understanding how alcohol affects the brain, breaking the beliefs I’d carried for years, and building real freedom. That method worked.
And it worked in a way that I felt really good.
Gone were the feelings of being different, of being diseased and not like a normal drinker. So much so I became a This Naked Mind certified coach to spread the word!
Now, I help other blokes find that same freedom without shame, guilt, or deprivation. These courses are built for the everyday Aussie man who’s ready to take back control, make sense of what’s going on, and create a better life on his own terms.

The Course and Coaching approach

The game plan for drinking less and living more:

1. Figure out what's really going on.

Before anything changes, you’ve got to know what you’re dealing with. This step helps you get clear on the "why" behind your drinking and how it really works.

  • Take an honest look at when, where and why you’re drinking.
  • Learn how alcohol affects the brain, its reward system, habits, sleep and mood.
  • Bust common myths like “I drink to relax” or “I drink for the taste”
  • Start spotting the patterns that keep you stuck.

2. You got to feel it to fix it.

Change doesn’t stick just because someone tells you to drink less.
It sticks when it actually means something to you. This part is about getting in touch with what you feel and care about.
Family, health, freedom, better mornings and letting that drive you.
It’s not about being emotional, it’s about knowing what matters.
When you feel the cost of where you’re at, and the emotional pull of where you want to be, you’ll find your fuel to get there! 

3. Put the wheels in motion.

Put the wheels in motion This is where talk turns into action. It’s about making real changes, one step at a time.
That might mean cutting back, having a plan for tricky situations, or building new routines that actually work for you.
You don’t need to overhaul your whole life overnight.
You just need a place to start and someone in your corner while you do it.

It's easier than you think!

Maybe you just want to learn on your own, I know that's how I was when I first started on my journey to change my drinking habits.
I read books, did my own thing. Probably took me a lot longer than it should have.
The cool thing about an online course is that you can sign up and work through it at your own leisure.
Each course has a Community Space attached where you converse with other students, ask questions, compare experiences and obtain some limited support from Coach Tony.
